About the Course

I offer online therapy and coaching based on your specific needs. Together we will gain a deeper understanding of your inner landscape and learn to release the emotional baggage of the past. The online sessions will help you find new ways forward and strengthen your natural capacities to return to a state of balance.

Leonie Louise

My name is Leonie and in my work, I fuse the wisdom of the East with the knowledge of the West.  I bring many years of professional therapeutic experience as a psychologist in Europe where I achieved my Masters’s degree in Clinical-developmental Psychology. My own journey and challenges opened me to a new world of transformation and healing.

In 2008, I co-founded a psychology practice in Amsterdam together with a psychiatrist and another therapist, combining Western therapy with Eastern healing techniques for people who were dealing with mental issues. Through the combination of therapy, breathwork, meditation, and EMDR  (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). I have been guiding people to heal from depression, traumas, and fear disorders for more than 10 years. I am also formally trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture), Tantra, and Chakra Yoga.

Coaching or Therapy?

Sometimes, therapeutic tools can bring you to the next level of awareness, and coaching tools can prove very valuable in therapy. In the first session (free of charge) we find out which trajectory or a combination of both may work for you. Generally speaking, coaching focuses more on personal development, goal-setting, and goal realization whereas therapy is about healing challenging past experiences, and finding new ways forward.

In the sessions I can offer different modalities or a combination of:

Life coaching focuses on what’s happening right now, what your desire is for the next step in your life, and how that gap can be bridged. In the coaching trajectory, I guide you in identifying obstacles that keep getting in the way and create an actionable plan to surpass them for inner freedom and peace in daily life.

I also offer the option to learn Mindfulness and different Breathwork practices that you can use in your daily life. These practices can be of great help for quieting the mind, releasing stress, and feeling more energized over the day.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an effective treatment approach for a range of mental and emotional health issues, including depression and anxiety. It is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. CBT aims to help you notice and challenge unhelpful thoughts and learn practical self-help strategies.

Inner Child Therapy: For healing trauma & self-acceptance
Often, the baggage we carry from our childhoods can be very difficult to carry, especially when we’ve been exposed to very challenging situations in our younger years. When we learn to recognize and understand the little boy or girl inside of us, we can reconnect with some of the reasons for our adult fears, phobias, and life patterns. When you begin to understand them and allow yourself to feel what still needs to be felt, then miraculous healing and transformation can take place.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. With this technique, you can go in a safe and efficient way to the source of distress. With EMDR therapy we mimic the natural memory processing characteristics of sleep through eye movement, which facilitates the brain to successfully process memory. Once traumatic memories have been desensitized and reprocessed, they no longer have the same negative impact. Memories typically become less vivid and upsetting and more adaptive beliefs emerge.

Free introductory session (30 minutes). Let’s get to know each other and discuss the issues and experiences you would like to explore. We will see what forms of coaching and therapy will best serve you.

In the last session, we review all we have explored, the process that has allowed us to examine the bigger picture, the things that are important to you, and what are valuable and necessary takeaways to create long-lasting change.

Each coaching/ therapy session is 60 minutes long. After each session, you will receive an email with a summary of key insights including the themes discussed, along with relevant tools for clarity on the path forward.

Pricing Information

The sessions are 60 minutes and I am able to offer both flexible and regular appointments at a fixed time every week or at various times that best suit your schedule. Together we can decide if we want to meet weekly or fortnightly or monthly – this is flexible and can be adapted as we go along.
